Channel Tres Releases “Acid In My Blood”
After a run of high-profile feature collaborations with Tyler, The Creator, Disclosure, Robyn, Ty Dolla $ign, Tinashe, SG Lewis and others, Channel Tres returns to his signature Compton house sound with the release of “Acid in My Blood” and “Ganzfeld Experiment.”
“Acid in My Blood” and “Ganzfeld Experiment” showcase the artist’s unmistakable blend of the rhythms of Detroit and Chicago with the slurry snarl of West Coast rap. The release serves as the first taste of Channel’s upcoming live performance at the Coachella Festival this April, where he’ll introduce Compton house to his largest audience to date.
A double a-side vinyl release, “Acid/Ganzfeld”challenges the traditional signposts of supposedly ‘black’ dance music and embraces the alternative narrative put forth by artists like Drexciya and Detroit’sUnderground Resistance. The new music is more techno than house, rawer and meaner, leaning into the Drexciyan concept of black precision to tell personal stories of alienation.
