Reach Records Artists 1K Phew, & Lecrae Win Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year Award at The 37th Annual Stellar Awards

q1K Phew & Lecrae won the coveted Stellar Award for Rap/Hip Hop Gospel Album of the Year for their album, No Church In A Whilereleased December 3, 2021, on Reach Records. No Church In A While featured ten tracks, including “Wildin,” “Ready Or Not,” “Move It,” “One Call,” “What We Gon Do,” “Amen,” “Blockhead,” “Born Sinner,” “Save Us,”.

In addition to their big win of the night, 1K Phew and Lecrae received a nomination for three additional awards, “Duo/Chorus/Group Of The Year,” “Rap/Hip Hop Song Of The Year” for the album’s single, “One Call” and “Music Video of the Year” for its video directed by Caleb Seales & Jerrell Green.

1K Phew accepted the award on behalf of himself and Lecrae who was out of town performing. He opened his acceptance speech thanking Jesus, shouting out Lecrae, his wife, and Reach Records stating:

“It’s normal if people don’t understand your calling. When God gave us our calling it wasn’t a conference call… it was just for us. I’m glad we had the courage to answer the call and I’m happy to see the response and celebration for the album.”

I’m especially excited to win this award in my city, Atlanta! Gospel Rap is Back!”

“Extremely grateful to have our music celebrated by my brothers and sisters in Faith at The Stellars,” stated Lecrae.

Reach Records also represented at The Stellars with Wande, performing her hit single, “They Didn’t Know II.”

Produced by Central City Productions, The Stellar Awards Gospel Music Show is the country’s first gospel music award show honoring gospel artists, writers, and industry professionals. Now in its 37thyear, The Stellar Awards has become “The Greatest Night In Gospel Music” and the most recognized and respected brand in the faith-based community.

The ceremony, which was co-hosted by Stellar Award-winning artists Jekalyn Carr and Kierra Sheard and was taped at Cobb Energy Performing Art Centre in Atlanta, GA. It will air on Sunday Aug. 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET, BET Her and BET International and will be syndicated in various local markets across the U.S. between Aug. 13 and Sept. 11.
