Manny Phesto releases a smooth new track “Ashtray” with Brooklyn producer J57

Manny Phesto and producer J57 have teamed up to drop a chill new single “Ashtray” via Over South/Soulspazm.

The production on “Ashtray”, crafted by J57, is a sample-free piece with crisp drums and vibey atmosphere that has some golden era nostalgia but an updated modern feel. J57 provides the perfect backdrop for Manny’s cleverly written lyrics and laid back yet commanding delivery.

This is the first collaborative release by the two artists who have both individually obtained solid track records throughout their music careers.

Manny Phesto has toured extensively since appearing on the radar with his critically acclaimed debut album Southside Looking In. He has garnered a loyal fan base through consistent features on dozens of releases, as well as an extensive list of national and international festival dates throughout the US, Mexico and Cuba.

Manny has shared bills with the likes of J Cole, Ice Cube, The Alchemist, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Curren$y, Atmosphere, Action Bronson, Aretha Franklin and more.

J57 is a Brooklyn based MC and Producer, founding member of NYC crew Brown Bag Allstars, label founder, and member of hip hop and super group Jamo Gang with El Gant and Rass Cass.

J has been a part of over 400 releases, and held his own while working with industry veterans including DJ Premier, Atmosphere, Sid Wilson of Slipknot and many others.

“Ashtray” features a cameo from SHADE 45’s Sway Calloway and Heather B, recorded during an appearance of Manny’s on the Sway in the Morning show.
