Finding inspiration in the story of Peg Entwistle, a Broadway actress. Moving to the United States from the UK to chase down her dream of being on Broadway, she’d find little success, chewed out by the Hollywood machine over and over again. Downtrodden and beaten down by the industry, she would take her own life by jumping off the ‘H’ in the Hollywood sign, a tragic incident remembered to this day.

Her story serves as a cautionary tale of how Hollywood chews and spits out people, and Scilence channels this into “Hollywood DMT.” Taking stock of how the machine can drive people into their worse vices, the single is a modern take on how the industry crushes the dreams and beliefs of prospective stars.
