No Lonely Hearts: A Dream Realized

First things first, please introduce for me to the members of No Lonely Hearts (NLH)…

Brian: Thank you for having us, I’m Brian!

Aidan: Hey, I’m Aidan!

Alex: I’m Alex!

Dylan: Hello, I’m Dylan!

Oliver: And I’m Oliver!

Let’s hop right into this latest single / video, “No Body (Else)” — Tell me about this particular track; how did it come to fruition?

Brian: This was actually such a fun song for us to create and navigate as it changed from its first version to the final mix! Originally, Alex and I were in the studio working on some songwriting to a Michael Jackson inspired beat. It wasn’t until Aidan popped in and suggested some Halloween undertones that we took it and ran with it.

Aidan: Speaking of MJ, you might have to watch the music video to see our tribute to the legend himself!

Of course, “ No Body (Else)” comes courtesy of your still forthcoming solo debut — What all can you all reveal and/or divulge about said upcoming body of work?

Dylan: GET READY! As a group, we’re so excited for this! We can’t disclose much yet, but we can say it’s gonna be worth the wait.

Alex: We’ve put countless days in the studio working on songwriting as a group and finding “our sound.” We’re so excited to be able to share a piece of all of us as we’ve gone through and picked the songs that we feel closely represent how we see the band.

How, then does “No Body (Else)” either differ and / or compare to previous No Lonely Hearts entries?

Brian: “No Body (Else)” really was “our baby.” Our prior releases were actually given to us by incredible producers we work with, Will Baker and B Samz. “No Body (Else)” was the first time you got to see a song, video and concept completely created by the five of us. It certainly won’t be the last, but we’re so thrilled we had the opportunity to share our work with you.

You all also recently unleashed No Lonely Holiday EP — Talk to me about this project…

Dylan: NLH is getting in the holiday spirit! We’ve known for months now we wanted to put out something for our listeners during the holiday season, and it’s almost that time.

Aidan: What readers and listeners might find exciting is that originally this was supposed to be a collection of NLH Holiday covers, but how could we not put an original on there?

Oliver: November 15th (it dropped), No Lonely Holidays is out on all streaming platforms, and we hope we can bring some joy to our listeners’ holiday seasons.

Reflecting, tell me your whole inception into music — When did you all first become interested in it? And, how did it all begin for No Lonely Hearts?

Brian: What’s super interesting is that we all truly do have our own backgrounds and stories that tie us to music. Some of us grew up surrounded by music, while to others it’s a newfound passion. Regardless of the background, it is incredible that a search by KDS Studios brought us all together in hopes of launching the next big American boy band.

Now you all are natives of where exactly? And growing up, who all did/do you consider to be your strongest musical influences?

Brian: I’m from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and I have so many musical influences; Bruno Mars, Sam Smith and Demi Lovato, just to name a few!

Aidan: Musically, I have always looked up to some of the classics; Billy Joel and The Beatles, definitely. And I’m from Erie, Pennsylvania.

Alex: Alex here, I’m from New Jersey, and some of my biggest influences as an artist would have to be Michael Jackson and Bruno (Mars).

Dylan: I mean, I’m from Dallas, Texas, so I’d have to say some of my biggest influences musically would stem from Brian McKnight and Rascal Flatts.

Oliver: I’m from the city that breeds boy bands, Orlando, Florida! As far as my musical influence, I have to go with my man Justin Timberlake.

Brian: As a band, we definitely get a lot of our inspiration from the “greats” that came before us; Backstreet (Boys), *NSYNC, One Direction and BTS. Our hope is to do our part to pave the way for the future of this genre.

Now from an individual standpoint, what do each of you bring to the table both personality-wise and creatively?

Brian: That is such a great question, we truly all come from such different backgrounds which makes this whole experience even crazier. Alex is a natural born leader, Dylan’s got that southern charm – not to mention the crazy riffs – Aidan is extremely intellectual and thoughtful creatively (and) Oliver brings his youth and playfulness…

Aidan: And Brian brings his positive energy and drive!

Dylan: We all carry with us our underlying home backgrounds from different ends of the United States, but we compliment each other well with our passion for music.

In having said that, how do you all classify your overall sound and / or style?

Alex: We want you to tell us! All of the songs we write truly become a piece of us, and it’s so cool to let our listeners in on that.

Brian: Right now, our sound is very pop with strong ‘90’s influences…but with us constantly working on songwriting, we are excited to see the different directions we take our sound, and can’t wait for our listeners to take that journey with us.

What particular string of events actually led to your linking up with the team(s) behind both The Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC?

Brian: It was actually a nationwide audition process. We all found out about the opportunity, and gave it our best shot to get that “golden ticket.” Months later, somehow we are all living in a house together and putting in hours of work every day while we pursue our dreams.

Dylan: Truly it feels like fate, and we’re all so grateful for this incredible blessing and opportunity.

Switching gears here…

What do you all feel has been the key to your longevity? And what will continue to sustain you all in this business?

Oliver: Honestly, just having the support of four other guys at all times.

Brian: Yeah, we truly always have each other’s backs, and when one of us might be having an “off-day,” we know we can lean on each other.

Aidan: Also, knowing and trusting that at the end of the day we all have the same goals, and our hearts are in it. We are not naive to the fact that the road we are on will not always be smooth, but it’s truly by learning to navigate it with each other that we’ll find longevity.

What do you all want people to get from your music?

Brian: Connection! Regardless of if we’re singing about love, heartbreak or even dancing, we want people to find that sense of connection with us. Our lyrics are truly a representation of where we are at in our lives, and we hope that this resonates with listeners.

On a more serious note, are you all happy with the current state of music?

Alex: Real music is coming back! We find it really cool to hear direct influences of past decades in current music.

Dylan: With the growth of social media, music has definitely been designed more so for consumption than with passion. We are thrilled that we do have the platform to freely create music that we enjoy, and can truly take away inspiration from some of the greats that we have all looked up to; Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, etcetera.

Do you all have any other outside / additional aspirations, maybe even completely away from music?

Brian: Absolutely! We’re all pretty adventurous and active. We definitely all have our own personal goals, but some of us are big into acting, others working out, skateboarding, hiking etcetera. There’s talk of maybe even wanting to open up some businesses down the road. We’re definitely thrilled to see what the future brings.

To date, what has been your greatest career moment(s), at least thus far, anyway?

Brian: One that stands out is the opportunity to perform at one of the most popular “creator conventions” known as Playlist Live. We were able to make so many amazing industry connections and friends.

Oliver: And we even had the honor of being asked to close out the show, following some of the most well-known influencer acts.

What’s an average day like for you all?

Brian: We wake up – some of us later than others *cough cough* “Oliver and Dylan” – and usually we go to the gym. On some days, we’ll film social media content…and on others, we’ll have show rehearsals.

Dylan: Also on the average day, we fight for solo studio time in our home studio, and we often collab on songwriting. We’re all adapting to what we’ve found to be an extremely unpredictable schedule in the industry, but that’s what adds to the fun!

Please discuss how you all interact with and respond to fans…

Brian: Our fans really become our friends. We try to stay in contact as much as we can.

Aidan: Our fans and supporters truly mean the world to us. When we can, we definitely try to respond to as many social media comments and DM’s as possible.

What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? And why?

Brian: It gets stressful and can be unpredictable, but at the end of the day we are so grateful to have the opportunity to pursue our passions everyday because truthfully not everyone gets to.

Alex: We truly have a built in family of five, and also just being able to connect with our listeners through our music is something that can never get old.

Dylan: The ability to have this creative outlet among the five of us is so insane, and we are so thankful.

What advice would you all have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Brian: You have to get up and try. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. If you’re passionate about something, you owe it to yourself to go for it.

Aidan: People are constantly gonna be putting you down, but its your strength and your resilience that will make your win that much more rewarding. You’ve got this!

Lastly, what’s next for No Lonely Hearts?

Oliver: This is only the beginning. A lot more music, and a lot more performances are coming soon.

Brian: We are thrilled to (have released) our Holiday EP No Lonely Holidays on November 15th across all streaming platforms, but there are also so many cool things in the works we can’t exactly say yet…for now, just know you can anticipate another EP very soon.

Any “closing” thought(s) for our readers?

Brian: First, we want to thank MuzikScribe for allowing us the opportunity to take part in this interview. Thank YOU for reading this and our story.
