As we prepare to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop in 2023, and in response to the ridiculous unsubstantiated allegation that Hip Hop culture’s founding legends are all dusty and irrelevant, it was a MUST that I hook up with one of the undisputed forefathers of the culture who is still alive and well and performing to this day and continues to contribute to the fabric of the culture. Tony takes us back to the beginning as he remembers it, names names, and describes situations that are essential in understanding the creation and development of this globally impactful community we call Hip Hop.

Heads up, this elder of the culture isn’t all that tech-savvy so there were some moments that don’t showcase production value LOL but it was important to me to show his face and let the world see how vibrant one of the most charismatic personalities of early Hip Hop is as he continues to bring the noise on behalf of the community!
