Live Session with Former Ruff Ryders Artist Drag-On About His Return

Live Session with Drag-On, perhaps best known for his time on Ruff Ryders, through whom he released his debut album, “Opposite of H2O” in 2000. The album came out of the gate at number five on the US Billboard 200 chart and eventually sold over 500,000 copies, earning a RIAA Gold certification. Following the success of this first project, he would release his second album “Hell and Back” in 2004 via a deal with Virgin Records.

Multi-faceted, Drag-On put his acting hat on in the 2001 film “Exit Wounds” and the 2003 “Cradle 2 the Grave”, both of which star his late and then-Ruff Ryders label-mate DMX.

Returning to center stage, Drag-On is back with new music led by the recently released hard-hitting single “Shotz”. It’s a firey altar call for the believers in no-nonsense Hip Hop where the spitter is a verified G saying “Let’s get back to it…”

In this Live Session, we, of course, covered his close relationship with DMX, his overall journey, the “why” for making music, some of the defining moments in his career, as well as what he’s got up his sleeve for 2023! His signature voice is one the fabric of Hip Hop has a need for, and the lyrical missiles fired by this no longer dormant giant are causing disruption in the rap category status quo. Great conversation with first-hand insight on the impact of DMX and Ruff Ryders on the industry as well as gems for those working their careers from the indie point of view…Tune In!!!
