0Raekwon and Charlamagne Tha God Debut Hashstoria Dispensary in Downtown Newark
According to Black Cannabis Magazine, Raekwon the Chef from Wu-Tang Clan and media powerhouse Charlamagne Tha God have teamed up with civil rights attorney Bakari Sellers and entrepreneur Jedd Canty to launch Hashstoria, a cannabis dispensary in the heart of Newark’s Four Corners district. This new spot at 799-805 Broad Street aims to become more than just a retail space; Hashstoria is poised to be a cultural landmark, celebrating Newark’s heritage and community spirit through cannabis.
A Grand Opening for the People
On November 13, Hashstoria will kick off with a grand opening celebration, featuring appearances by Raekwon, Charlamagne, Bakari Sellers, and Newark’s local leaders, along with surprise guests. The day’s events will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live DJ, food trucks, contests, and exclusive deals on premium cannabis products. This isn’t just about launching a business; it’s about creating a space where culture and community come together.
Vision Beyond Retail: Cannabis and Culture
Hashstoria is designed to go beyond retail sales. Raekwon explains, “We’re building more than a dispensary. Hashstoria is here to inspire our people and uplift our culture.” With plans to open a consumption lounge next year, Hashstoria will be a space where the Newark community can safely gather and engage, fostering connection and wellness in a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere.
Get the App for Exclusive Perks
Hashstoria fans can download the Hashstoria app for special deals and a chance to win tickets to a private Raekwon performance. The app, available in the Apple App Store, gives customers access to exclusive offers and loyalty rewards, enhancing the Hashstoria experience.
A Community-Centric Approach
As New Jersey’s cannabis industry thrives, Hashstoria’s founders are committed to ensuring their business supports Newark’s growth. Bakari Sellers, a civil rights attorney and partner, emphasizes their mission to create social equity. “We’re not just here to sell cannabis. We’re here to create opportunities for Newark’s residents,” Sellers shared. This includes job creation, educational programs, and supporting local artists, all underscored by a commitment to social impact.
Honoring Newark’s Creative Legacy
Hashstoria enlisted award-winning architect Rachael H. Grochowski to design a space that honors Newark’s unique creative legacy. Local artists have contributed to the decor, merging history with contemporary design to create a warm, immersive environment.
With Hashstoria, Raekwon, Charlamagne, and their team are not only entering the cannabis industry—they’re making a cultural statement. This dispensary stands as a testament to Newark’s past and its bright future.
