06th Annual Grassroots Music Seminar and Concert Series Returns kicking off in Bowling Green, Kentucky
The 6th Annual Grassroots Music Seminar and Concert Series, presented by Come Clean Empire and The Hype Magazine in collaboration with Working Class Music and Kyng of Da Beatz Productionz, is set to take place on February 27th, 2025 at Capital Theatre 416 E Main Ave Bowling Green, Kentucky 42101. Doors open at 4:00 PM, with a Meet and Greet starting at 5:00 PM and the Seminar kicking off at 6:00 PM. This groundbreaking event brings together aspiring artists, seasoned industry professionals, and music enthusiasts for an evening dedicated to bridging the gap between creativity and business. Attendees will have the opportunity to network, learn essential industry insights, and enjoy electrifying performances from regional talent.
The seminar will feature a powerhouse panel of industry leaders, including Big V of Nappy Roots, renowned member of the Southern rap group known for hits like “Po’ Folks” and “Good Day.”Big V is also the founder of The Tisdale Foundation, Inc., which empowers at-risk youth and young adults through the arts while providing recovery support for individuals overcoming substance abuse.
Dr. Jameelah “Just Jay” Wilkerson, Co-Founder of the Grassroots Music Tour, Founder of The Hype Magazine, and Co-Founder of Maverick Global Distribution; and William “Chill” Rinehart, Founder of the Grassroots Music Tour, Co- Founder of Maverick Distribution and Come Clean Empire. Additional panelists include Alpharetta City Commissioner Gene Andrews, who serves as President of the Black Country Artist Association; Taiisha Bradley, owner of Media Circus PR; Drae Jackson, President of 6103 Entertainment and former manager for Nappy Roots, Crime Mob, and Juvenile; Dennis James, owner of The Flip Flop Media Network; and Kevin Mitchell, a veteran music manager with a background in gaming at EA Sports.
The Grassroots Music Seminar was founded to address the growing disconnect between artists, DJs, and the business side of the music industry. With the rise of technology and evolving industry practices, many artists have lost touch with the foundational relationships and knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of the modern music landscape. The seminar seeks to rebuild these connections, equipping participants with the tools and wisdom necessary to thrive as artists, DJs, and entrepreneurs.
In addition to the seminar, the Concert Series provides an unparalleled platform for regional artists to showcase their talents before influential industry figures. Performers will be evaluated on their stage presence and professionalism and must demonstrate their understanding of business concepts discussed during the seminar.
