April Taylor’s Vision for Youth Entrepreneurship: How She’s Building the Next Generation of Business Leaders

April Taylor is a multi-faceted entrepreneur, financial coach, and sought-after speaker who has spent her career helping people turn big ideas into thriving realities. Along the way, one key lesson she has learned is that the seeds of success are planted early.
“Kids are natural entrepreneurs,” Taylor says. “They’re creative, fearless, and willing to take risks without overthinking. Yet somewhere along the way, they get conditioned to play it safe and follow the normal path, being taught to wait for permission instead of creating their own opportunities.”
Taylor believes teaching kids to play it safe robs them of the potential their natural fearlessness brings to their lives. So, she created the Jr. Moguls platform to show kids — and their parents — how their natural abilities can be maximized to drive entrepreneurial success.
“The Jr. Mogul movement is about equipping young people with the tools they need to think like an entrepreneur, take ownership of their future, and build something meaningful,” Taylor says. “It taps into their natural abilities before they are discouraged from using them, unlocking their potential and setting them up for a future of financial freedom.”
Sharing wisdom she honed at home
The Jr. Moguls platform is an innovative system that empowers young minds to develop business acumen, financial literacy, and a winning mindset. The information it presents has been proven in both Taylor’s life and the lives of her children.
“I come from a family of entrepreneurs,” Taylor shares. “Business was in my DNA before I even knew what it meant. From a young age, I saw the power of ownership, the challenges that come with it, and what it takes to build something from the ground up.”
Taylor used what she had learned to empower her entrepreneurial journey. And when she became a mom, she imparted the lessons to her children with remarkable results.
“When I had my two children, I wanted them to know their creativity could be turned into something real,” Taylor shares, “so I made it my mission to teach them everything I knew about business.”
As Taylor’s children applied the lessons their mom was teaching them, the businesses they built thrived. Today, Taylor’s daughter is a six-figure earner, and her son is a seven-figure earner.
“More important than their business success is the fact that they have what they need to live life on their own terms,” Taylor says. “And I want that for every child, which is why I launched Jr. Moguls.”
Getting kids started early
Kids’ minds are like sponges, absorbing everything they see and hear and using it to shape their worldview and behavior. For that reason, Taylor encourages parents to start as early as possible by introducing kids to the concepts that will help them to become entrepreneurial.
“The values you instill in them today will shape how they tackle the world tomorrow,” Taylor says. “If you equip them with resilience, curiosity, and a positive mindset, you’ll empower them to dream big, take action, and become the leaders they are destined to be.”
Jr. Moguls offers instruction on entrepreneurial basics, as well as practical business concepts. It helps kids learn how to understand the market they’ll be selling to, craft a business plan, and build an online presence to drive the growth of their business, all in language kids can understand and get excited about.
Giving kids a safe space to grow
Taylor sees parents as mentors who provide kids with a safe space to explore their ideas and discover what it takes to make them a reality.
“When my kids came to me with their first business ideas, I didn’t criticize or dismiss them, no matter how far-fetched they were,” Taylor says. “I asked them questions about what they would need to bring their ideas to life, showing them their ideas mattered. My job, like any parent, wasn’t to give them the answers, but to encourage them to find the answers themselves.”
The instruction Taylor offers through Jr. Moguls guides parents on how to play a strong mentoring role with their kids. It encourages them, defining the skills kids need to learn and providing practical tips on how to present them.
Encouraging a Jr. Mogul mindset
Taylor sees mindset as the key factor that separates those who dream about success from those who create it. Her program teaches Jr. Moguls to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, as opposed to an employee mindset.
“Employees wait for opportunities while entrepreneurs create them,” Taylor explains. “Employees trade time for money while entrepreneurs find ways to generate income, and avoid the problems they face while entrepreneurs find solutions. Making the shift from employee to entrepreneur gives kids what they need to become moguls.”
The Jr. Mogul mindset also encourages kids to look at failure differently. Rather than seeing it as a setback, kids learn to view failure as a lesson that teaches them how to do better next time. Taking risks, even when they lead to failure, is a confidence-building practice all entrepreneurs need to embrace.
“Every parent wants to see their children live their best lives,” Taylor says. “Teaching kids entrepreneurial skills empowers them to achieve that life by giving them what they need to be confident, navigate life with purpose, and achieve their potential.”
