Steve Raze Redefines Media From Blogs to Blockbusters
How Steve Raze built a multimedia empire bridging Hip Hop journalism, television, and film production

From Breeding Ground to Cultural Blueprint
Steve Raze has influenced the video media space with a career that began taking shape at AllHipHop.com, where he served as Executive Vice President of Multimedia. In addition to overseeing editorial direction, he launched The Breeding Ground, a talent spotlight series that helped amplify the early careers of now-superstars like Wiz Khalifa and Nicki Minaj.
“We were trying to give the next big thing a proper platform,” Raze explained. “Back then, digital media wasn’t being taken seriously, but we made it matter.”
He wasn’t just creating content—he was shaping the culture. Through Raze’s leadership, AllHipHop programmed landmark events at SXSW, CMJ, and A3C, creating visibility pipelines for emerging artists while embedding the brand deeper into the music industry’s core.
Documenting the Hustle with “Next 48 Hours”
With a knack for merging speed and storytelling, Raze created the “Next 48 Hours” docu-series, capturing the high-stakes moments following a major album drop. Featuring artists such as Nas, Rick Ross, and French Montana, the series was an early prototype for real-time artist marketing content.
“The idea was to show what goes down immediately after release—promo runs, radio stops, label pressure, all of it,” he said. “We turned artists’ daily grind into cinema.”
The series became a fixture at SXSW for a decade, further solidifying his reputation as a content curator with both commercial and cultural appeal.
From Reality Casting to Emmy-Worthy Production
Transitioning to television, Raze joined the casting and production teams behind Love & Hip Hop Atlanta and New York, helping to discover and develop dynamic characters like Akbar V and Tokyo Vanity.
“I love identifying people whose stories haven’t been told yet,” Raze shared. “There’s power in helping them tell it authentically.”
He soon expanded into structured court TV, producing over 20 episodes of Divorce Court, and then broke new ground with From Pain to Power on Revolt TV—an award-winning documentary starring T.I. that examined trauma, healing, and growth in the Black community.
Scaling with AGA: Music, Branding, and Film

As the founder of AGA Music, Raze went on to manage major names like Fivio Foreign, Jim Jones, and Drumma Boy. His AGA Agency arm focused on branding for celebrity figures such as Antonio Brown and Master P, while AGA Films marked his foray into feature film.
“Ballin’” stars a dynamic cast including Lance Stephenson, Safaree, Tray Chaney, and Rebecca J. Live, and is presented by Fast Life Entertainment and ARC Films. “We’ve funded over $1.2 million in projects so far,” he noted. “Every move is about ownership, legacy, and impact.”
Fueling the Vision Through Struggle
Raze didn’t sugarcoat the journey. “I’ve been broke, homeless, overlooked. But that never stopped me,” he said. “Those were the chapters that built the man who could handle everything I’m doing now.”
That transparency added gravity to his success. Raze’s story isn’t just about elevation—it’s about adaptation, about staying rooted in purpose while evolving with each wave of media transformation.
