Directed by Diego, the “Ball” video finds JR posted at Detroit Central High, catching the basketball team in action while plotting his next big Motown move. The single offers a glimpse of what’s to come on JR’s upcoming album, Ball Up Top,dropping June 27th via Get A Bag Records / EMPIRE. A fixture in Detroit’s rap scene for more than a decade, JR’s roots run deep. He started rapping in middle school alongside Tee Grizzley as part of the group All Stars Ball Hard, building a cult following with their hustle-hard anthems. After legal setbacks ended his hoop dreams, JR pivoted fully to music, dropping his debut mixtape Get A Bag Or Go Home in 2016 — a project that set the tone for his work ethic and independent grind, and inspired the name of his label, Get A Bag Records.
