Her career milestones include being featured at the 2014 MIX Showcase and co-founding Moodlab Music with her sister Vanessa Mood in 2016. The indie label was born from their shared vision of amplifying underrepresented voices in the industry, a mission Chaz continues to champion.
Jessica Chaz’s music has consistently resonated with audiences worldwide. Her debut EP, Dreamin’, released in 2018, climbed to #23 on South Africa’s iTunes Pop Albums chart and #53 in Canada. Her live performance of “Answer” in 2020 for the UKZN Jazz Centre’s virtual concert underscored her commitment to using music as a force for good.
Fast forward to 2023, and Chaz achieved a career-high with her single “Will You Love Me,” reaching #1 on South Africa’s iTunes Pop Vocal chart. Her EP River, released later that year, continued her streak of success, charting at #4 in South Africa’s Pop Albums and #44 on the U.S. iTunes Pop chart.
This year, Jessica Chaz has embraced global collaboration with the release of her latest project, Promise of Sunlight Remixes. The compilation, featuring contributions from co-producers such as Imani Pressley, Vanessa Mood, Lindi Ngonelo and João Pedro Pinheiro aka DKSH and spans across Brazil, South Africa, the U.S., and Canada. It offers a unique perspective on her original track. Each remix captures the essence of its locale, showcasing Chaz’s ability to connect cultures through music.
