Ryan Collins on the “Stars N Stripes”

Ryan Collins is a musical creative unafraid to provide a “voice for the voiceless” when they need that voice the most. This songwriter brings a brand new grit to hip-hop, drawing from his battles to craft music that’s as raw as it is uplifting. His sound blends hard-hitting beats with storytelling that reflects perseverance, resilience, and growth—turning real-life struggles into fuel for anthems about strength and redemption. Collins is finding his voice as an artist with a sense of purpose and outlet that continues to drive him forward and elevate his grind. With each new release, he delivers songs that resonate far beyond the surface, offering both energy and inspiration to anyone chasing their comeback.
With its explosive production and razor-sharp delivery, “Stars N Stripes” feels like the soundtrack to a championship moment. In just under three minutes, Ryan Collins packs the energy of a redeeming anthem. But beyond the hype, Ryan weaves his own story into the track. The chorus “I’ve been waiting for this all my life / I’ve worked hard and I’ve sacrificed” is a reflection of the grind he’s lived through. From writing songs at 16, to battling depression and sleepless nights in the studio, to pulling himself up from rock bottom, the lyrics make clear that his stripes were earned. That balance of high-octane vibrations and heartfelt resolve is what makes “Stars and Stripes” hit so hard. It’s as much a motivational anthem for anyone pursuing victory as it is a testament to anyone fighting through their obstacles. Ryan’s message is clear: tenacity pays off, and now it’s his time to shine.
“Stars N Stripes” music video channels the same motivational force as the track itself, pairing Ryan Collins’ passionate performance with powerful visual symbolism. Cutting between Ryan’s direct-to-camera delivery and striking B-roll imagery, like concert crowds, sparklers, fireworks, and the American flag, the video embodies strength, triumph, and reflection. Scenes of boxing preparation, handwritten notes, and quiet moments of self-reflection in the mirror highlight the discipline and sacrifice that mirror Ryan’s journey. Paired with shots of sunsets, cheering fans, and light flaring across focused eyes, the visuals create an atmosphere that’s both deeply personal and universally empowering. The video elevates the song into a cinematic experience: an anthem not only for triumph, but for the grind, the reflection, and the spark of belief that makes it possible.
Stars N’ Stripes” feels like such a victory lap. What was going through your mind when you first started writing this one?
To give the most accurate and truthful answer, around that time I felt like I finally found an incredible sense of purpose in life and with my craft that I had been searching for. I was achieving career accolades and recognition I had worked for years to accomplish. My passion was out in full force, and that definitely came out in my writing.
The chorus talks about waiting for this moment your whole life and sacrificing for it. What sacrifices stand out most to you when you look back on your journey?
Between 2010 and 2014, my music career was gaining a lot of traction. I was doing shows all over the country, getting some radio airplay, etc. At the peak of it all, I took a hiatus to focus on family and raising my young kids. That was very important to me as a man, so I got a career outside of the music industry. After years and years of working a job I didn’t like, I finally decided to pursue my dream full-time.
You’ve said music has been your outlet through battles with depression and long nights in the studio. How do those struggles shape the energy you bring to a track like this?
just tried to convey my story in hopes that someone can relate to something I say and help them to know it’s possible to battle dark times and make it through to better days.
The production hits hard, but there’s also so much heart woven in. How do you strike that balance between hype and honesty in your sound?
When you’re speaking from the heart and passionate about what you’re saying, it comes out that way.
The video shows boxing prep, handwritten notes, fireworks—symbols of grit and triumph. How involved were you in shaping those visuals with the director?
Cody Derr, with MoonDust Studio’s did a great job bringing the vibe I wanted to life. We worked together closely to encompass the feeling of triumph and the hard work and dedication that it takes to achieve that.
There are also more intimate moments in the video—like staring into the mirror. Why was it important to show both the hype and the vulnerability?
I try to stay as transparent as possible when I tell my story so the listeners can feel a personal connection.
You’ve been making music since you were 16. How does “Stars N’ Stripes” reflect the growth you’ve had as both a person and an artist since those early days?
Oh man… I’ve grown too much. Growth doesn’t always come easy; it almost always is uncomfortable at the time or comes as a result of being uncomfortable in some way. It’s always for the better, though.
Your style blends raw storytelling with motivational energy. Who or what inspires you to keep putting that “voice for the voiceless” into your music?
The biggest inspiration I get is knowing music has gotten me through some hard times. That inspires me to write songs that can potentially do the same for someone else.
Fans who are grinding through their own struggles are going to connect with this song. What do you hope they take away when they press play?
That nobody owes us anything. You can be the most talented in the world and without hard work, it’s useless talent. You gotta stay on your grind
Before we wrap up, what’s next for you—more singles, a project, or live shows where people can feel this anthem in person?
I’ll be dropping some more singles in the coming months! I’ve also been getting a lot of love in the sync world, too. So listen for me on TV! All future music releases and updates can be found on my socials or the iDreamology pages.
