Roc Nation School Named to Billboard’s 2025 Top List
LIU’s Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment earns national honors for shaping tomorrow’s creative leaders.

Roc Nation School Recognized Among Industry Elite
The Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment at Long Island University’s Brooklyn campus has once again been recognized by Billboard Magazine as one of the nation’s Top Music Business Schools for 2025, marking its second consecutive year on the prestigious list. The honor solidifies the school’s position as a premier destination for future leaders across music, entertainment, and entrepreneurship. Billboard highlighted the school’s innovative approach to preparing students with real-world industry experience and creative versatility.
Entrepreneurial Education at the Core
The Billboard feature praised the Music Entrepreneurship course, which teaches students to develop business proposals, pitch ideas to industry leaders, and launch viable ventures. Each semester culminates in the New Venture Pitch Off, where students present directly to executives from Universal Music Group and Live Nation, bridging academia and enterprise in real time. The curriculum reflects Roc Nation’s creative ethos: blending innovation, business acumen, and cultural awareness.
Expanding Partnerships and Financial Empowerment
This year’s recognition also spotlighted the school’s expanded partnership with JPMorgan Chase, integrating financial literacy through the Money Smart Financial Coaching Program. The initiative helps students cultivate practical money management skills for long-term success in a competitive industry. The Roc Nation School continues to host panels and masterclasses featuring artists, executives, and innovators, ensuring students have access to firsthand insights on the evolving music landscape.
Cultural Representation and Collaboration
Beyond the classroom, the Roc Nation School has maintained its focus on inclusion and representation. The school recently partnered with MetaMoon for its third annual summit, dedicated to elevating Asian voices in music and entertainment. The October 22 event convened executives from Live Nation, Roc Nation, NBA, Foot Locker, and more to discuss authentic connections with diverse audiences worldwide.
Graduates Leading the Next Era
In May 2025, the school celebrated its first graduating class, whose alumni have already secured roles at Roc Nation, Bob Elliott’s Music Makers Studio, and other notable organizations. These success stories illustrate the school’s mission in action, empowering students to transition seamlessly into professional careers.
