Light Warrior Nation’s Jon Moniz Taps In

It’s a late afternoon in Montreal, and the air hums with the familiar buzz of the city — the kind of energy that never really fades, even after dark. On the other end of the line, Jon Moniz sounds relaxed but focused. His tone carries the calm confidence of an artist who’s seen the grind, lived through eras, and come out sharper every time. Nearly twenty years in, he’s still pushing boundaries — and as he speaks, it’s clear he’s entering a new chapter.
“I’m deep in work mode right now,” he begins without hesitation. “I’m finishing up my Light Warrior album and also working on the next WhyUS project — the follow-up to Sicilian Sauce, which dropped back in March 2025.”
Jon talks about his latest release with pride and conviction. “The newest single is ‘Vivre de Paix’ with my band WhyUS, for French artist Timal Garnier. It’s about peace, unity, and staying true to your purpose.” You can almost hear him smile through the phone — this isn’t just another track; it’s a statement.
When asked what’s next, his focus sharpens. “Light Warrior is almost done. It’s eleven tracks, and each one’s getting its own video. We’re even planning to shoot with The Game out in L.A. soon.”
Between studio sessions and visual concepts, Jon’s already picturing himself back on stage. “I’d love to perform at Rolling Loud,” he says with quiet confidence. “The biggest crowd I’ve hit so far was about 5,000 people, but I’m ready to take it to the next level.”
As for who helps shape his sound, Jon doesn’t hold back his appreciation. “I work with some incredible producers — K-Why, Danny ILL, Vagalam, Robin Wesley, and Louis Côté. Everyone brings a different flavor. That’s what keeps the sound evolving and alive.”
Before hanging up, Jon takes a moment to reflect. “In five years, I see myself on top of the Canadian music scene, with global reach through my label, Light Warrior Nation,” he says. “The goal is to promote light over darkness — to use our art and platform to make the world a better place.”
There’s a pause before he adds, “This isn’t just about success. It’s about purpose.”
