FattMack to Release Personal New Album MCKENZIE on December 12 After Breakout Year

On the heels of the lead single “I Admit It” (1.5M+ Streams), Alabama rapper FattMack has returned with the announcement that his new album MCKENZIE will be released on December 12th via Santa Anna. Positioned as his most personal work to date, MCKENZIE will serve as a chronicle of FattMack‘s life from childhood all the way to his newly-embraced fatherhood. The record, produced with his core team Link With Trev and Wicked is an amalgamation of his competing music influences, oscillating between soulful, melodic rap and a distinct blend of autotune-drenched emo-trap. Paying homage to his Alabama roots, MCKENZIE holds onto the Southern base he grew up with while reflecting on the life he’s living now. Preceded by recent singles “IRL” (2.5M+ Streams) and “2 Redbones” (feat. MGM Snipe), MCKENZIE will be the latest release in an action-packed breakout year in 2025 for FattMack, following his recent appearance at the Charlotte show of NBA YoungBoy‘s ongoing viral MASA Arena Tour, a coveted co-sign from XXL for The Break, his August album Untreated Trauma — a seven-track deep dive into the distinct Southern sound he’s been curating, featuring appearances from G Herbo and TopOppGen, as well as April’s Here to Stay, his first full-length project of 2025, which is home to standout tracks like “Hit It” (feat. Lil Tony Official) [7M+ Streams] and “Fake Love” (feat. Raq baby & BAK Jay) [2M+ Streams].

Between 2023 and 2024, FattMack released a series of self-issued projects including FattMoney Music Murder, and Mr. Did It By Hisself 2. Off Money Music Murder came “BLRDDD” (12M+ Streams), his most streamed song to date and a flip of Mac DeMarco’s “Chamber of Reflection”, establishing a common theme of alternative samples throughout his catalogue. After signing to indie labels Great Day Records and Santa Anna, he released TMK in 2024 as his label debut, followed in 2025 by two more full-length albums, the aforementioned Here to Stay and Untreated Trauma. Over the past year, FattMack re-located to Atlanta, finding himself in an endlessly supportive creative environment for collaboration. berthing the forthcoming album MCKENZIE. The move coincided with the birth of his daughter, a turning point that reshaped his priorities and added another level of depth to his writing. All of this momentum eventually led to a surprise opening slot for NBA YoungBoy on the Charlotte stop of his sold-out nationwide MASA Tour – a moment that saw him make the jump from regional power to national superstar.

About FattMack:

McKenzie “FattMack” Haynes is an artist from Mobile, Alabama, who, over the course of his five-year career, has become a staple in Southern hip-hop for his genre-bending music and transcendent songwriting. Raised in Southern Alabama, FattMack’s early exposure to music came through singing soprano in his church choir, an experience that introduced him to the importance of melody and harmony. Surrounded by a distinct regional rap sound he viewed as overly aggressive, he gravitated toward the emotionally driven styles of Juice WRLD and Trippie Redd from the heyday of SoundCloud. Those influences guided him toward the quickly developing genre of melodic rap, pioneered by artists like Rod Wave and A Boogie wit da Hoodie, a space where his interest in singing and rap could converge. His core fanbase connects most with his moments of vulnerability, moments when his music favors self-reflection instead of performance, cultivating a devoted base that mirrors the grassroots energy of artists like NBA YoungBoy.
