French Montana & Max B ft. Metro Boomin – Narcos

Fresh home after a long and highly publicized bid behind the wall, Max B is wasting no time reclaiming his voice—and his moment. After nearly 15 years away from the mic, the Harlem icon returns with renewed hunger, reuniting with longtime collaborator French Montana for their latest full-length statement, Coke Wave 3.5: Narcos.

Spanning 23 tracks and running just over an hour, Coke Wave 3.5: Narcos finds the duo tapping back into the chemistry that made their original Coke Wave tapes cult classics. With production and features from heavyweights like Metro Boomin, Harry Fraud, and the late Chinx, the project balances gritty street narratives with polished, cinematic soundscapes.

Max B opens the album with a statement piece, “Make America Wavy Again (MAWA),” cleverly flipping Donald Trump’s infamous slogan while reclaiming the “wavy” terminology he helped popularize years before it became hip-hop shorthand. It’s a symbolic moment—both a cultural reminder and a victory lap—setting the tone for a project rooted in legacy but forward-looking in execution.

The album artwork reinforces that duality. Painted in a style reminiscent of classic Grand Theft Auto covers, the image places Max B and French Montana front and center against a backdrop drenched in New York symbolism. Landmarks like the Apollo Theatre, signage reading “Harlem” and “Welcome to Bronx,” and heist-inspired details fill the frame, while a subtle wave motif nods to Max B’s lasting imprint on rap culture.

Coke Wave 3.5: Narcos arrives as Max B’s second project since his release late last year, underscoring his urgency to make up for lost time. For French Montana, the album marks another chapter in a partnership that has always thrived on loyalty, shared history, and a deep connection to New York’s sound.

The release also lands during a busy week for hip-hop. Elsewhere, IDK links with Pusha T on “LiFE 4 A LiFE,” produced by KAYTRANADA, while artists like Larry June and Hit-Boy continue their relentless output. Underground heads are also eating well, with new offerings from Wiki, Your Old Droog, Kai Ca$h, and RJ Payne.

Still, the spotlight this week belongs squarely to Max B and French Montana. Coke Wave 3.5: Narcos isn’t just a reunion—it’s a reminder that some waves never die.
