MexikoDro Kicks Off 2026 With Swagger-Fueled New Video “Hire,” A Standout From Still Goin The EP

Kickstarting 2026 in with undeniable presence, Platinum-certified Atlanta producer, “plugg” pioneer, rapper, and artist MexikoDro pulls up with a music video for his new single “Hire” out today. It remains a fan favorite from his acclaimed 2025 body of work, Still Goin The EP, available now.

In the visual directed by QUVN and J Woods, the Atlanta phenomenon dons a flashy fur coat as he leans up against a classic 1985 Chevy Monte Carlo. The opulent fit and braggadocios verses naturally evoke his innate laidback swagger. Sonically, MexikoDro’s hypnotic delivery practically melts into the gritty piano-laden beat. Flush with confidence and charisma, the song culminates with a bold declaration, Mexiko finna be straight when he retire. I be clean as fuck, look at my attire. If I apply for a job, they gonna hire.

Still The Goin EP has undoubtedly affirmed MexikoDro as a tried-and-true proven phenomenon. Pitchfork lauded No Date” in the Top 20 of “The 40 Best Rap Songs of 2025” and among “The 100 Best Songs of 2025, going on to add, “Nearing 30 and with his plugg innovator days largely behind him, so much of “No Date” is an ode to being stable, having a bed to lay your head and a kitchen to stack mils and make meals.” Beyond praise from Passion Of The Weiss and more, Pastehailed it as one of “The 15 best EPs of 2025” and proceeded to rave, ‘No Date’ is one of the best rap tracks of the year, thanks to BapeBrazy’s Southern mixtape touch. MexikoDro puts superstardom into self-care.” The FADER highlighted “Twice” as part of “The best rap songs of November 2025,” elaborating “Encouraging but not overbearing, MexikoDro’s no-nonsense raps stand out in an era defined by amoral clout chasers.”

Not to mention, he sat down for an extensive profile interview with Rolling Stone who marveled at how, “His lyrics are often delivered over classic synth that feel like so many of Atlanta rap’s main sonic moods converged: triumphant, spooky, menacing. The track, like most of his November Still Goin EP, feels like the best of classic Atlanta rap’s properties without the gruff trap tales or drug metaphors attached.”

Last year, he set the stage for the release with “Remy. VICE proclaimed, “MexikoDro makes modern day hustler music.” Still Goin The EP includes “Height, which gathered over 6 million Spotify streams. Standing firm as a champion, Vicepegged it as one of “3 New Hip-Hop & R&B Songs You Must Hear This Week, proceeding to rave, “He’s one of hip-hop’s few blue collar workers, extremely grounded with a penchant for old school rides.” REMIXD MAGAZINE professed, His historic run won’t be ending anytime soon, as he is singlehandedly keeping hope alive.” Lead single “MARTA” kickstarted this season. Pitchfork highlighted it as “the follow-up to his hype-stirring single ‘No Date,’” while artists like Yeat and Tyler, The Creator joined a growing wave of co-signs for his sound.

MexikoDro has already surged throughout the culture as an influential producer, cooking up tracks for everyone from Drake to Playboi Carti and Kodak Black. Along the way, he quietly unveiled his solo music, picking up the mic and introducing another side of his artistry. This March, he reached critical mass when he unleashed the rapidly rising banger “No Date. It has already gathered nearly 13 million Spotify streams and counting and climbed into the Top 10 on the US Shazam Chart. Lil Yachty shared a video of himself rapping to the song. Plus, he has claimed real estate on coveted playlists such as Spotify’s “Most Necessary,” “No Cap,” “Out The Mud,” and “Fresh Finds: Hip Hop,” to name a few.
