Comedy, community, and activism converge in a landmark benefit supporting LGBTQ+ rights and people living with HIV

Stand-up comedy takes center stage with purpose this March as Tig Notaro and Matteo Lane headline Lambda Legal’s inaugural Stand Up for Equality, a benefit event dedicated to protecting the rights of LGBTQ+ people and everyone living with HIV.
The event will take place on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, bringing together some of comedy’s most celebrated and emerging voices for an evening rooted in joy, resistance, and collective action.

Produced by Emmy-nominated producer Page Hurwitz, the night will feature performances from legendary entertainer Dina Martina, rising comedians Roz Hernandez and Rachel Scanlon, along with Guy Branum, Solomon Georgio, and Dana Goldberg, with additional performers to be announced.
More than a comedy showcase, Stand Up for Equality is designed as a moment of cultural unity, blending stand-up performances, musical moments, and celebrity presenters into a shared space for laughter and advocacy.
“Even in the darkest of times, LGBTQ+ people have found ways to dance and laugh and express joy. Activism isn’t a sidebar for our community; it’s part of our survival, our expression, and our legacy.” — Kevin Jennings, CEO, Lambda Legal
Tig Notaro emphasized the importance of sustained action, noting that Lambda Legal’s decades of impact litigation and advocacy align with her values.

“I like organizations that do the work instead of talking about doing the work. Lambda Legal has done the work for decades,” ~ Tig Notaro.
Founded more than four decades ago, Lambda Legal remains a national leader in impact litigation, education, and policy advocacy, working to secure full civil rights protections for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people, and individuals living with HIV. www.lambdalegal.org
Stand Up for Equality represents a new chapter in that mission, using comedy as a cultural connector and a sustaining force for long-term advocacy.
