NE-YO and AKON Launch Sold-Out Global Tour

The Grammy Award-winning hitmakers opened their Nights Like This Tour with three packed Dublin shows before taking their collaborative production across Europe and North America.

NE-YO and AKON launched their 2026 global co-headline tour with three consecutive sold-out performances at Dublin’s 3Arena, setting the stage for an expansive celebration of two catalogs that helped define a generation of popular music.

Nights Like This Tour - April 23 @ 3Arena

The opening weekend, held April 23-25, introduced audiences to the back-and-forth format of the Nights Like This Tour. Rather than presenting two traditional sets separated by an intermission, the artists move between their respective performances throughout the evening, creating one continuous production built around recognizable records and audience participation.

NE-YO delivers favorites including “So Sick,” “Closer” and “Miss Independent,” while AKON brings “Smack That,” “Lonely” and “Right Now (Na Na Na)” into the hit-filled set.

After completing its European and United Kingdom dates, the tour moved into North America. The next scheduled performance is today, July 31, at Toronto’s RBC Amphitheater, followed by a second Toronto show Aug. 1. The tour is scheduled to conclude Aug. 21 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. (Live Nation)

Two Hitmakers Share One Stage

The Nights Like This Tour begins with NE-YO before moving fluidly between his music and AKON’s catalog.

That structure gives the show the energy of a musical conversation. Each artist takes command of the production before passing the spotlight back, allowing the evening to move through R&B, Pop, Hip Hop and dance records without losing momentum.

Backed by a full live band, NE-YO and AKON revisit songs that became radio staples, club anthems and defining moments in their respective careers.

The production adds aerial dancers, appearances from renowned dance duo Les Twins and a standout sequence featuring AKON performing inside a transparent bubble as he travels above the audience.

The artists reunite for the finale, rising above the stage on separate lifts as they close the show with “Play Hard.”

A Tour Built Around Shared Musical History

NE-YO and AKON emerged as major forces during an era when R&B, Hip Hop, Pop and electronic dance music increasingly crossed paths.

Their catalogs reflect that shift.

NE-YO’s songwriting and vocal approach brought polished storytelling to records such as “Because of You,” “Sexy Love,” “Mad” and “Miss Independent.” His collaborations also helped connect R&B with Dance and Pop audiences through songs including “Give Me Everything” and “Time of Our Lives.”

AKON’s distinctive vocals powered solo hits such as “Locked Up,” “Don’t Matter,” “Lonely” and “Right Now (Na Na Na).” His collaborations with artists including David Guetta, Eminem, Gwen Stefani and Michael Jackson expanded his reach across multiple genres and international markets.

The Nights Like This Tour brings those parallel histories into one production rather than positioning the artists as separate attractions.

NE-YO Expands His Catalog With Highway 79

The tour arrives during another significant chapter in NE-YO’s career.

His country-inspired album, Highway 79, was released July 10 after months of recording and collaborating in Nashville. The project blends his established vocal style and storytelling instincts with country influences and instrumentation. (Ne Yo)

NE-YO first reached widespread recognition with “So Sick,” the breakout single from his 2006 debut album, In My Own Words. The project reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and marked its 20th anniversary in 2026.

Across his career, he has won three Grammy Awards, earned two No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 and generated more than 23 billion streams across his catalog.

His songwriting credits extend beyond his own recordings. NE-YO helped write Rihanna’s “Unfaithful,” “Russian Roulette” and “Take a Bow,” as well as Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable.” He has also written for artists including Mario, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Carrie Underwood and Celine Dion.

His screen credits include “BMF,” “Empire,” “Stomp the Yard,” “Red Tails,” “The Wiz Live!” and “Step Up: High Water.”

AKON’s Impact Extends Beyond His Own Hits

AKON enters the tour with more than two decades of global recording, production and entrepreneurial experience.

The Senegalese American artist has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide, received five Grammy nominations and placed 45 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.

Through Konlive, Konvict Kulture and Konvict Music, AKON helped launch or support the careers of artists including T-Pain, Lady Gaga and Kardinal Offishall.

His career also includes more than 300 guest appearances and collaborations with artists such as Michael Jackson, David Guetta, Gwen Stefani, Lil Wayne, and Eminem.

Beyond music, AKON has used his platform to support philanthropic and economic-development initiatives. His Konfidence Foundation has worked to assist underserved children in Africa and the United States, while his energy initiatives have sought to expand access to electricity across African communities.
