The Almost Jaded world premiere brought comedy, music and culture together as Barry Brewer Jr. welcomed guests inside OBE Studios in Merrillville, Indiana, for an exclusive first look at his new stand-up special.
The private screening gave attendees an early look at Brewer’s latest stand-up special ahead of its release on the OBE Network. However, the evening also offered a much bigger look at what the Chicago-born entertainer is building behind the scenes.
The Hype Magazine was on the scene as Brewer opened the doors to his production home, welcomed a room filled with familiar faces and introduced guests to the growing vision behind OBE Studios.

Inside the Almost Jaded World Premiere at OBE Studios
Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, Brewer has built a career that stretches across stand-up comedy, television, film and digital entertainment.
Many audiences know him from his role in Tyler Perry’s Bruh, his appearance on America’s Got Talent and a stand-up career that has helped him build a significant audience online. With OBE Studios, however, Brewer is expanding his work beyond performing.
That evolution was at the center of the Almost Jaded premiere.
Rather than hosting the screening at a traditional theater or outside venue, Brewer brought guests directly into OBE Studios, the multimedia production facility behind his growing slate of original content.
As a result, the night became more than a first look at a new comedy special. It became an opportunity to see the larger operation taking shape around Brewer’s creative vision.

Stars Step Out for the Almost Jaded World Premiere
The evening began on the black carpet as guests arrived at OBE Studios for the private celebration.
The premiere brought together names from across television, film, comedy and music, including Grammy Award-winning poet and artist J. Ivy, Ta’Rhonda Jones of OWN’s The Never Ever Mets and The Chi actress Genesis Hale.
Also in attendance were comedian Bigg Jah, actress Candice Renee, actor Monti Washington, actor Mahdi Cocci and actress Chandra Currelley. Together, the invited guests represented different corners of entertainment while showing their support for Brewer and the OBE Studios vision.
Throughout the arrivals, guests stopped for photos and interviews before moving inside for the evening’s programming.
The Hype Magazine was there capturing the experience through the eyes of HYPE, with Avehre, Rad103haq and Tony Treble connecting with Brewer and several of the special guests in attendance.

Mali Music Adds a Live Moment to the Celebration
Once inside, guests enjoyed cuisine curated by celebrity chef Uncle Low.
Music also played an important role in the evening. Grammy-nominated artist Mali Music delivered a special live performance for the room, creating one of the night’s standout moments before the focus shifted toward Brewer’s work on screen.
The performance added another layer to an evening that brought several sides of entertainment together under one roof.
From the black carpet and conversations throughout the room to the food, music and eventual screening, the premiere reflected the multidisciplinary environment Brewer is developing through OBE Studios.

OBE Studios Gives Guests a Look at What’s Next
Before Almost Jaded took center stage, guests were introduced to additional programming being developed for the OBE Network.
The presentation included previews of upcoming projects, including an animated superhero series. In addition, the presentation highlighted the range of original programming expected to come from the growing OBE ecosystem.
That preview placed the comedy special into a broader context.
OBE Studios is not being built around one project. Instead, the multimedia production company is developing content across comedy, drama, film, podcasts, stand-up and other forms of entertainment.
Meanwhile, the OBE Network gives Brewer and his team another platform to connect that programming directly with an audience.
For Brewer, that means his role continues to expand. He may be the talent audiences see on stage and screen, but increasingly, he is also helping build the infrastructure behind the content.

Barry Brewer Jr. Brings Almost Jaded to the Screen
After giving guests a look at what is coming from OBE, it was time for Almost Jaded.
The private audience became among the first to experience Brewer’s new comedy special before its wider release through the OBE Network.
The premiere comes as the platform continues its “Road to 50K Subscribers” campaign, an effort to grow the community surrounding OBE’s original programming.
For longtime followers of Brewer’s comedy, Almost Jaded brings him back to the format that has remained a major part of his career.
Yet the setting made this particular premiere different.
Brewer was presenting his work inside a production environment connected directly to the next phase of his career. Therefore, the relationship between artist, ownership and infrastructure became increasingly clear throughout the night.

From Chicago Comedian to Building His Own Production Home
Brewer’s story is rooted in Chicago.
Growing up on the city’s South Side, he developed the comedic voice that would eventually take him from local stages to television, film, national touring and digital audiences.
Over time, that journey has expanded.
His work in Tyler Perry’s Bruh introduced him to television audiences, while his stand-up career continued to grow both on the road and online. Now, OBE Studios represents another step in that evolution.
Instead of focusing solely on the next role, performance or comedy special, Brewer is creating a space capable of producing a wider range of projects.
Independent creators have more ways than ever to reach audiences. Still, creating sustainable infrastructure around that work remains a much larger undertaking.
With OBE Studios and the OBE Network, Brewer is working to bring production and distribution closer together while maintaining a direct connection with the audience supporting the content.
The Almost Jaded world premiere offered a real-time look at that vision.

Inside the OBE Studios Experience
Following the screening, the evening continued with a guided tour of OBE Studios.
Guests received a behind-the-scenes look at the production facility and the space powering Brewer’s growing creative operation.
The tour also provided a fitting conclusion to the night. After seeing what OBE has coming, watching Almost Jaded and experiencing the environment firsthand, attendees could see where much of that work is being developed.
It connected Brewer the comedian with Brewer the creator and producer.
More importantly, OBE Studios is intended to function as more than a backdrop for his own career. The company is building a growing slate of original programming while developing an independent production ecosystem in Northwest Indiana, just outside the city that helped shape Brewer.

Almost Jaded World Premiere Highlights Brewer’s Bigger Vision
The Almost Jaded world premiere celebrated a new Barry Brewer Jr. comedy special, but the night also made one thing clear: the special is only one piece of a much larger picture.
Brewer is still making audiences laugh. He is still performing, acting and creating. At the same time, he is building.
OBE Studios gives that work a physical home. The OBE Network gives it a platform. Meanwhile, Almost Jaded gives audiences another entry point into the world Brewer and his team are developing.
By the end of the evening, the connection between all three was hard to miss.
For Brewer, the next chapter is not happening only on stage. It is happening behind the camera, inside the studio and throughout the growing OBE ecosystem.
