Cory Gunz – 96 Era

Cory Gunz pays homage to hip-hop’s golden era of the 1990s with 96 Era, out today alongside the video for “99 9’s.” The project can be streamed HERE.
On the project’s lead track “99 9’s,” Cory flips Jay-Z’s “22 Two’s,” as he brings New York roots into focus. The song is produced by Ski Beatz, who produced the original “22 Two’s.”
96 Era also features “Kat & Brunson” with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, released in June in support of the Knicks’ championship run, along with “Living Proof” featuring OT The Real. The project brings together new material and bonus tracks, including Cory’s breakout “WYFL Freestyle” as a bonus track.
Cory Gunz’s latest chapter builds on a steady run of releases that keeps his New York roots and lyricism front and center. The run includes “New York New York,” “Bag” featuring Grafh, “Kat & Brunson” featuring Shaquille O’Neal and the continued success of his viral “WYFL” freestyle, which has generated over 5 million views across social media and YouTube while also landing on key Apple Music playlists including New in Hip-Hop, Viral Hip-Hop, BARS and The New New York.
Previous releases include “Whispering” featuring Styles P and Whispers, “For Da Crew” featuring Sheek Louch, and “Fish Fry” featuring NEMS and Whispers. He follows with “Nay Say,” “3 Staxx,” “Redrum (Freestyle Militia Mix),” “Die Slowly” featuring Chris Rivers, “Anxiety (Freestyle),” and “WYFL.” Along the way, releases including “Laundry,” “Stanley,” “That Part,” “Count,” “Japan Winters” and Militia Vol. 2 further showcase Cory’s range and consistency as he carries that momentum into 96 Era.
