The Revolt Music Conference 2016 features Funk Flex, DJ Khaled, Nas and more

The Revolt brand will return to Miami Beach to host the third annual Revolt Music Conference 2016 (RMC) on October 13, 2016, through October 15, 2016. This year, for the first time, the Eden Rock Miami Beach Resort will play host to the innovative, industry-networking event. Influencers, music executives, songwriters, producers, bloggers and music artists will collide to create a collaborative space and a one-of-a-kind forum designed to help guests understand and navigate the evolution of the music business.

RMC 2016 will feature the third installment of the interactive #Ask panel series. Thw world renowned, DJ, record producer, and social media mogul, DJ Khaled, will take the stage for an #AskKhaled live Q & A panel, where attendees will have the opportunity to personally interact with Khaled and ask questions of their choosing. This panel follows the successful #AskDiddy panel hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs at RMC every year. The keynote speakers announced for this year include, Lyor Cohen, the Founder of 300 Entertainment, and, Julie Greenwald, the Chairman and COO of Atlantic Records. More names will soon be announced for keynote speakers.

RMC provides attendees with the opportunity to personally interact with leaders from both the music and technology industries during interactive panels, performances, exclusive networking events, pitch sessions, poolside parties, music experiences, and more. “The Revolt Music Conference was created to serve as a unique platform for executives, curators and innovators, to discuss the future of music – specifically the rapidly growing influence of technology and brands in the industry,” said Keith Clinkscales, Revolt CEO.  He added, “Building off the success of the last two years, our clear goal is to provide a specialized experience that is both creatively and intellectually stimulating. Knowledge and access are the hallmarks of RMC.”

Revolt also announced that hip-hop icon, Nas, will be presented with this year’s “Started From The Bottom Now We Here” award at the annual Gala Dinner, which is presented to an industry leader who has had a lasting impact and unique influence on music. Previous award recipients include Antonio “L.A.” Reid, and Jimmy Iovine. The RMC Gala will also feature a special performance by singer and songwriter, BiBi Bourelly.

“RMC’s goal every year is to feature speakers and panelists who are doing innovative things in music, technology, and social media and have had successful longevity in doing so,” said Andre Harrell, Revolt Vice Chairman and Chair of the Revolt Music Conference. H continued, “Nas is bigger than ever and just celebrated his 20th anniversary in the industry, DJ Khaled has become a powerhouse on social media with an unparalleled understanding of technology’s influence on the industry, and Lyor Cohen has been at the realm of some of the top record companies and now runs his own independent label. The amount of knowledge gained at RMC from these speakers and sessions is always remarkable, leaving attendees with a life-changing experience.”

In addition, Revolt announced the first round of industry influencers who will take the stage as panelists to discuss a diverse range of topics including leveraging the power of social media, the relevance of radio, podcast and streaming platforms, and a deep dive with today’s top DJs. Panels will also focus on the industry players behind the scenes including agents, managers, producers, A&R representatives and more.

SOme of this years panelists will include, Funk Master Flex, a world renowned DJ and Radio Host, DJ Envy, another notable DJ and Radio Host; Cool and Dre, Producers and Songwriters; DJ Marcos “Kosine” Palaios, Producer / Da Internz; Tuma Basa, Head of Global Programming, Hip Hop at Spotify; James Cruz, President, Bad Boy Management; Darrale Jones, Executive Vice President, A&R, Def Jam Recordings; Aubrey Flynn, Vice President of Digital at Combs Enterprises; Angie Nwandu, Founder of The Shade Room; and Ernest “Tuo” Clark, A&R at Def Jam Recordings. While this list of panelists is exciting, there are more names to be announced as the festival approaches.
