Grandmaster Flash turns the House of Yes All the Way Up

Brooklyn’s most outrageous performance and event space that was described by USA Today as, “New York’s coolest new nightclub”, welcomed a duo of amazing events early this month that highlighted the most creative, influential, and cherished cultures of yesterday and today. Paying homage to the great legends of old school Hip-hop and the ‘Golden Era’ days of Studio 54, the House of Yes presented an event headed by none other than Grandmaster Flash.

In a special edition of Throwback Thursday with Flash, the House of Yes took it’s guests back to the days when hip-hop first started in community centers and parks across the Bronx. The Bronx legend not only rocked the House of Yes, but he is also one of the pioneering figures that helped spawn the birth of hip-hop culture. The crowd went crazy as they witnessed the innovator of the turntable, Grandmaster Flash. The night celebrated all that is hip-hop culture from back in its original days; from double dutching, street moves, and more. The master of hip hop is also a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and an associate producer for the 2016 Netflix original series ‘The Get Down,’ co-created by Baz Luhrmann.
