Former First Lady Michelle Obama To Have A Moderated Conversation At AT&T PAC On March 8th, 2018

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced tonight that former First Lady Michelle Obama will speak at the Winspear Opera House on March 8, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. as a special add-on presentation of the Center’s #hearhere speaker series.

“A Conversation with Former First Lady Michelle Obama” is an exclusive optional add-on to the #hearhere series. Current #hearhere subscribers can add Mrs. Obama’s engagement to their subscription package beginning at noon tomorrow, Friday, January 19 by calling our box office at 214-880-0202, and must do so by Friday, January 26 at 8:00 p.m. New subscriptions are also available, and new subscribers may add tickets to Mrs. Obama’s engagement at the time of purchase – by phone, online, or in person. Remaining single tickets, if any, will be put on sale at a later date.

Mrs. Obama’s appearance was announced tonight from the stage at the Winspear Opera House before Neil deGrasse Tyson’s sold-out engagement, which is also part of the #hearhere series. Also in the series are Cofounder of Apple Computer Steve Wozniak; Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Tony Winner Rita Moreno; award-winning television and film actor Rob Lowe; actor, writer and comedian Bill Murray & Friends; and NPR’s Ira Glass as another optional add-on.

Tickets will be available starting Friday, January 19, at noon to current and new #hearhere subscribers. Current subscribers can call 214-880-0202 to add this event to their subscription and must do so by Friday, January 26 at 8 p.m. New subscriptions can be purchased by phone, or online at attpac.org/hearhere, or in person at the AT&T Performing Arts Center Winspear Opera House Box Office at 2403 Flora Street. The Box Office is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and before performances.

Michelle Robinson Obama served as First Lady of the United States from 2009 to 2017.

As a transformative First Lady, Mrs. Obama launched and led four key initiatives: Let’s Move!, to address the challenge of childhood obesity; Joining Forces, to support veterans, service members, and their families; Reach Higher, to inspire young people to seek higher education; and Let Girls Learn, to help adolescent girls around the world go to school.

Before becoming First Lady, Michelle Obama attended Princeton University and Harvard Law School. She started her career as an attorney at the Chicago law firm, Sidley & Austin, where she met her future husband, Barack Obama.  She later worked in the Chicago mayor’s office, the University of Chicago, and the University of Chicago Medical Center. Mrs. Obama also founded the Chicago chapter of Public Allies, an organization that prepares young people for careers in public service.

Mrs. Obama was born on January 17, 1964. She married Barack Obama in 1992. They currently live in Washington, DC and have two daughters, Malia and Sasha.
