Teenage Award-Winning Director Aaron Avont Johnson and Celebrity Actress Jasmine Burke Hosts “Lost” Red Carpet Premiere in Miami

Seventeen year-old director Aaron Avont Johnson premiered his new award-winning movie ‘Lost’ in front of a crowd of Miami tastemakers, fans, VIPs, critics, and press at the Manuel Artime Theater.

‘Lost’ is a film that follows the life of a young man by the name of Job who lost his family to a tragic car accident while in middle school. This one event set forth a chain reaction of negative situations that included being molested as a child, being a homeless high schooler living on the streets of Miami, and losing his wife and unborn child to an unforeseen tragedy.

During the 2018 London Filmmaker Festival, ‘Lost’ took home the most ‘Talented New Filmmaker’ award and earned Aaron a finalist slot in the Sundance Film Festival.

“I started  my love for film at the age of 9 and by the age of 12 I had already started my own production company, Aaron Avont Johnson Productions,” says filmmaker Aaron Johnson. “It all started when I was playing around with a movie making software and realized I really wanted to turn this into a career. From there my family got behind me and were consistently there to help me take my dream to new, unimaginable heights. I was blessed enough to learn early in life not to be afraid to go after my dreams. I encourage everyone to never be afraid to take a risk. I know sometimes it can be a little scary, but whats life without a couple of hurdles and risks.”

This red carpet premiere was nothing short of beautiful gowns, freshly tailored suits, and a charming celebrity co-host and star of the Bounce TV’s ‘Saints & Sinners”, Jasmine Burke, who reminded event attendees just how much of a rising star Aaron Johnson is.

“I love giving back,” says actress Jasmine Burke. “I mentor students at both Clark Atlanta University and Georgia State University film departments. Anytime I hear about young people who are doing things, making a difference, and taking control of their lives, I can’t help but to be involved. I first heard about Aaron when I was tagged on a post on the Shaderoom featuring his trailer. When I took the time to watch it, and realized that this trailer came from a 17-year old young man, I was struck with pure amazement.”

Aaron told premiere attendees “I definitely wanted to show the back story and what could have happened to a man in that position. Sometimes in life, pain can numb us. We can go through so much pain that we don’t feel a thing.”

Aaron Johnson is a nationally recognized youth speaker that has written two books, several stage plays, and six films.

“I am blessed. I’m grateful. Now more than ever, the world is waiting on original content,” says Aaron Johnson.
