0Flo Rida On Working With The “Race To Erase MS” & What Else He Has Coming Up In His Career
Over the last decade and change, Flo Rida has had close to a dozen multi-platinum singles in the United States. Songs like “Low,” “Right Round,” “Wild Ones” and “My House” have not only crossed over into pop radio, but have also helped to make Flo Rida one of the more commercially-successful rappers of the past decade. Hits aside, Flo Rida has also held his own in collaborating with top artists from a variety of genres, including Sia, Ke$ha, Nelly Furtado, Tiesto, Akon, Jennifer Lopez, and Pitbull.
Beyond music, Flo Rida is also known to keep busy with a variety of charitable causes. One such cause is the Race To Erase MS, and Flo Rida will be performing at this year’s 25th Anniversary Gala at The Beverly Hilton. Flo Rida will be performing at the April 20th event, as will Elle King and Siedah Garrett.
I was able to ask Flo Rida a few questions about the Race To Erase MS and what else he had coming up. More on Flo Rida can be found at www.clubflo.com, while more info on how you can support the Race To Erase MS — whose celebrity supporters have included Mick Jagger, Cher, KISS, Paris Hilton, Jerry Seinfeld, Cyndi Lauper, Steven Tyler, and Elton John — is online at www.erasems.org.
Flo Rida: Jeff Epstein reached out to my management and advised of the opportunity. I was in San Diego performing so I agreed to stay with my band to entertain everyone in support of this great cause.
What will you be doing at this year’s event? Performing?
Flo Rida: Attending the dinner and performing along with my band Flo Fusion, DJ Kronik, and dancers The Wild Ones.
Race To Erase MS event aside, what is coming up for you in your career?
Flo Rida: More music, venturing into film and some entrepreneurial endeavors.
Finally, what do you wish more people knew about Flo Rida?
Flo Rida: That I’m godfearing, blessed and humble. I don’t take any of the success of selling over 100 million records in 10 years for granted.
