Comedian, Actor, and Long Island’s Own Chris Roach To Be Honored with “Rising Star” Award at the 21st Annual Long Island International Film Expo (LIIFE)

From His Stand Up Career to Landing the Role of Loveable “Mott” on CBS’ “Kevin Can Wait”, The Long Island Film/TV Foundation Will Present The Honor on Thursday, July 19th at Bellmore Movies

With a wide-ranging career that has seen him performing stand up across the U.S., to his many film roles, and recent stint on “Kevin Can Wait” – the Long Island Film and TV community is getting ready to honor one of their own! Comic/actor/writer Chris Roach will be honored with theRising Star” Award on Thursday, July 19th, 7:00PM during the closing Awards Ceremony of the 2018 Long Island International Film Expo! (Red Carpet Begins at 5:15PM – Bellmore Movies, 222 Pettit Aveenue, Bellmore, NY 11710)

A Ronkonkoma, NY native, Christopher Brian Roach has appeared in film and television from Comedy Central to The Michael J. Fox Show, Limitless, The Onion Sports Network,  and had a recurring role as Rodney the loveable mental patient on ABC’s One Life to Live. He regularly performs stand-up at some of the biggest and best known stages in the tri-state area such as The Borgata in Atlantic City, Gotham Comedy Club in New York City, Governor’s Comedy Clubs on Long Island, and many more!

Following “Kevin Can Wait” he skyrocketed to fame, appearing on United Stations Radio, SiriusXM with Jim Breuer and his fellow castmates, The Anthony Cumia Show discussing his former NYPD career, and interviews with famed comedy scenester Jeffrey Gurian, The Laugh Button where he talked about everything from his love for hockey to the trials and tribulations of being 6’6, WTNH’s “CT Style” explaining how he got his big break, ABC Tampa Bay’s “Morning Blend”, and hamming it up on the jumbotron NY Rangers games at Madison Square Garden (a unique honor for the lifelong Rangers fan!). Roach has been on roll bringing side-splitting comedy to the masses, and continues to do so with a string of upcoming dates at Rooster T. Feathers Comedy Club in Sunnyvale, CA this August!

Chris enjoys coaching youth hockey as well as spending time with family and friends. A big believer in giving back, he often spends time doing charity events and sharing his comedy. For the past several years, he’s worked with Angela Gulizio of G & G Talent Management.

Now, as he gets ready to be honored with the Rising Star” Award during the closing Awards Ceremony of the 2018 Long Island International Film Expo from the Long Island Film/TV Foundation – its sure to be one of MANY future accolades the beloved entertainer will receive as he continues add to his extensive career!
