DJ Cassidy ft. Justine Skye – Coolin’ By My Side

World renowned deejay and critically acclaimed producer, DJ Cassidy, releases his new single “Coolin’ By My Side” with a guest feature from R&B singer/songwriter, Justine Skye. The infectiously warm, bassline driven track pairs Skye’s sultry vocals with Cassidy’s signature funk-infused sound for a body-moving anthem about party and partnership.

“In all my travels, I’ve realized the jaw-dropping places I get to play around the world are simply not as fun if you don’t have someone to share them with,” Cassidy recounts. “I wanted to write a song about the power of partnership and how that partnership makes the party. Justine and I are both from New York, have homes in Los Angeles, and are constantly traveling. We bonded over the core themes of this song and I couldn’t be happier that she is now literally, coolin’ by my side.”

Conceptually, Cassidy channeled what he calls his greatest inspiration…travel. “I’ve been deejaying around the world since I was a kid, and I’ve always been enamored by the universal feeling, fashion, and freedom of vacation and the relationship it has with music,” explains Cassidy. To capture the essence of this feeling lyrically, Cassidy collaborated with Canadian hip-hop artist, SonReal, and singer/actress, Kiana Lede, to write the topline, a proclamation of love over limelight. Vocally, Cassidy united with fellow New Yorker, Justine Skye, for her hometown swag and provocative delivery to bring their shared passion for the song to life.

For over half his living years, Cassidy has been the deejay of choice for our culture’s most definitive icons including Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Kanye and Kim Kardashian West, Naomi Campbell, Oprah Winfrey, and President Barack Obama for whom he deejayed both of his Inaugurations and his 50th birthday party. Cassidy has united a wide array of artists on the records he’s produced including Robin Thicke, Jessie J, R. Kelly, Chromeo, Wale, Jess Glynne, Grace, Lil Yachty, Earth Wind & Fire, and Nile Rodgers with whom he has collaborated three times, most recently on “Blame It On The Freak” featuring emerging singer/songwriter, Royal Love.

“Coolin’ By My Side” follows Justine Skye’s latest solo release, “Build,” and comes as a prelude to her upcoming EP, set to be released via Roc Nation/Republic Records in 2019.
