Photos: AFI FEST 2019 Audi Gala screening of ‘WIDOWS’
AFI FEST 2018 presented by Audi screened WIDOWS on Wednesday, November 14th, as part of its Galas lineup from Academy Award®-winning director Steve McQueen, at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre. The film was introduced by the director, who also presented the cast members that were in attendance including Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Lukas Haas, Garret Dillahunt, Matt Walsh, as well as producer Iain Canning, co-writer Gillian Flynn and editor Joe Walker.
Galas for this year’s FEST included the World Premieres of BIRD BOX, ON THE BASIS OF SEX, and THE KOMINSKY METHOD. Additional Galas included THE BALLAD OF BUSTER SCRUGGS, GREEN BOOK, plus a conversation with Nicole Kidman followed by a screening of DESTROYER.
Events for the evening included the Closing Night Gala, the World Premiere of MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS, and a Special Screening of AMAZING GRACE, the long-awaited documentary featuring Aretha Franklin’s renowned performances at New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles. Marking the film’s West Coast premiere, the screening took place at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres.
