Hamidou Diallo Wears Custom UA M-Tag Sneakers for 2019 NBA All-Star 3-Point Contest
Queens Takes On The Queen City
High-flyer Hami Diallo is set to show off his 44ā + vertical leap at the 2019 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. The Queens native is taking his acrobatic style to the main stage in Charlotte, while sporting a custom pair of the Under Armour M-Tag low. Hamiās custom M-Tags are a nostalgic look back toĀ where he grew up – the LeFrak City apartment developments in central Queens.
Queens is the most ethnically diverse urban areas in the world.Ā Built in the sixties, LeFrak City is a microcosm of what makes Queens so unique,14,000 people from all walks of life in a single community.Ā Buildings in the complex are named after cities and countries around the world.
Billy Hobbs,Ā Hamiās friend from his days at Kentucky, was tasked with bringing Queens and LeFrak City to life on Hamiās M-Tags. Nods to the community abound, includingĀ the building names like Peru, Copenhagen, Melbourne, London and more. There are moreĀ references to Hamiās story – Stop 1 Deli, his local bodega, section 2 and section 5, his local basketball courts. Of course, the Queens basketball legendsĀ get a nodĀ – Taliek Brown, Kenny Anderson and Kenny āThe Jetā Smith are all referenced by their jersey numbers.
Hamiās M-TagsĀ tells the story of the city that made him. When he rises up with spectacular slams during All-Star Saturday night, all of Queens risesĀ with him.
