0ShiShi Infuses PXTN’s “L2LY” With His Signature Eastern Boom-Bap Inspired Sound
Building off of his recent run of consistently dropping new tunes, Indian-American producer ShiShi has provided an official remix for âL2LYâ by Los Angeles based R&B artist PXTN. ShiShi infuses âL2LYâ with his signature Eastern Boom-Bap inspired sound, flipping the original beat into his own personal style while highlighting PXTNâs unique voice and talents.
âI found out about PXTN a year ago and love his voice, music and whole aesthetic – so I was super excited when he reached out to me to do this remix. Â Heâs an insane vocalist so building a remix around this singing performance was a blast – I wanted to incorporate a couple Indian elements in a super subtle and tasteful way without overdoing it, so when I landed on those tabla hits in the drop the rest of the song kind of fell into place. Â This record is definitely representative of the direction Iâm going in musically – more funk and boom-bap inspired, with little sprinkles of my culture and global elements peppered inâ – ShiShi
ShiShi has gotten off to a fast start in 2019, and itâs only going to get better from here. Following this remix for PXTN, he will be releasing a remix for the hit single âHeroâ by Quix and Vincent, from Quixâs 2018 EP Illusions. He will follow that up with his next original âHigher Place,â scheduled for release next month. Check out ShiShi’s remix of “L2LY” by PXTN below.
