Goodbye Honolulu Share Brand New Video Single “U Got It”

Toronto’s Goodbye Honolulu might be one of the most well connected bands… They’ve toured the USA twice with HindsSelena Gomez is a fan, they released a single on Burger Records, they’ve also toured with Kate Nash, SWMRS, Miya Follick, The Beaches and their live show is a rambunctious ball of energy with each member switching instruments and sharing vocal duties, making the crowd dance and sweat to Goodbye Honolulu’s catchy slacker vibes rock n roll.

U Got It is the first single since the band’s two “Honey” EPs No Honey and More Honey. The single was recorded in Toronto and produced by Ben Cook (F*cked Up), Anthony Price (US Girls) and Braden Sauder (Marquee Sound).  This single is a capture of the energy of Goodbye Honolulu’s stage show and a permanent memory of what it’s like to be an early 20-something still into rock n roll in 2019.

“‘U Got It’ started as a rough demo I recorded late at night while listening to songs by Le Tigre, Blood Orange, and random U.K punk. I was trying to capture the feeling of inner city nightlife. The slick downtown vibes you get walking around a metallic metropolis, surrounded by people trying to show off, and being around folks with that “rock star” energy. It can bring out the best and worst in people, fuelled by drugs and alcohol, or just the energy of the bustling city. The feelings can sometimes be overwhelming and can sometimes be stimulating; will you burn the city down? Or will you thrive? Maybe both.”

– Jacob Switzer, Goodbye Honolulu
