Sway Calloway To Join Viacom, Business Titans and Celebrities at All Stars Project Benefit May 6th

The annual All Stars Gala, “Performance Lives! People Grow!” is taking center stage at Lincoln Center in New York City on Monday, May 6.  The event will raise $2 million to support the All Stars Project’s work nationwide as a leader and innovator in the field of Afterschool Development, using the power of performance to transform the lives of youth and poor communities.

Rapper, radio personality, journalist, hip-hop icon and Executive Producer/MTV Host Sway Calloway, will be the special guest host for the All Stars’ Gala benefit. Calloway has toured the All Stars 42nd Street national headquarters and has been a supporter of its programs.

Thanks to Viacom – one of the All Stars’ corporate partners – Artist and MTV Talent Justina Valentine will perform alongside youth at the benefit.  Additionally, Peppermint, Sasha Velour, Milk, Carson Kressley and others from RuPaul’s Drag Race and World of Wonder will be attending.

At the Gala, the All Stars will be honoring Viacom and Chris McCarthy of MTV, VH1, CMT and Logo, Colleen O’Neill of EY, Derek DiRisio of PSEG Services Corporation, and Rose Lavandero of TM Financial Forensics LLC. They are all champions of inner-city youth who, according to the All Stars have made a deep impact in New York, New Jersey, and nationwide.

The All Stars Project is a 100 percent privately funded non-profit, so the $2 million that will be raised at the Gala will go directly to work with nearly 20,000 inner-city youth and their families from New York City, Newark, Jersey City, Chicago, Dallas and the San Francisco Bay Area.

The programs are free, privately-funded, and built in partnership with thousands of individual and corporate supporters and volunteers.
