Actor, Author & Philanthropist Hill Harper On Working With Experian, His Upcoming Projects & More

Hill Harper is a humanitarian, an award-winning actor, best-selling author, entrepreneur, health and wellness ambassador, educator and philanthropist. Harper is perhaps most recognizable for his starring role in the CBS hit television drama CSI: NY. Subsequently, Harper played starring roles on Covert Affairs, the fast-paced drama Limitless, and Showtime’s award-winning drama Homeland. Currently, Harper stars in ABC’s #1 drama The Good Doctor and hosts How It Really Happened with Hill Harper on HLN, in addition to his work as host of the hit Wondery podcast named Legal Wars.

Harper is also a successful businessman and entrepreneur, having authored four New York Times bestsellers: Letters To A Young Brother, Letters To A Young Sister, The Conversation, and The Wealth Cure; The Wealth Cure notably chronicled his diagnosis with thyroid cancer and his journey to health. His latest book, Letters To An Incarcerated Brother, speaks to the current mass incarceration crisis and was released to critical acclaim and several award nominations alike. Harper is also the founder of the Manifest Your Destiny Foundation, a wonderful nonprofit that is dedicated to empowering underserved youth through mentorship, scholarship and grant-oriented programs.

Currently Harper is on a mission to help people open the door to a better life through financial literacy with a challenge regarding your credit score. A financial activist working to help those who are facing credit challenges, Harper is partnering with Experian to create more awareness about the importance of a good credit score and the financial tools you can use to become more credit-savvy. Harper was recently honored by the Detroit City Council for his philanthropic work — including his work with Experian on the project known as “Boost America” — and I had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Harper about that Experian work and plenty more on behalf of the The Hype.
