NFL Favorite Cliff Avril On The “Cliff Avril Family Foundation,” His Radio Career & Collecting Cars

A Super Bowl Champion, a 2016 Pro Bowler and a ranking player within the peer-voted NFL Top 100 Players Of 2017 list, Cliff Avril had an NFL career that most players could only dream of. Instrumental within the Seattle Seahawks’ victory at Super Bowl XLVIII, Avril also played in Super Bowl XLIX. But life has in no way slowed down for the Defensive End since retiring from the NFL in 2018.

As the namesake of the Cliff Avril Family Foundation, Avril is working to increase the awareness of Type 2 diabetes in youth and to encourage healthy living through nutrition and exercise. He is also providing educational support and opportunities to youth in Haiti, along with various community-based organizations in Jacksonville, Seattle and Charlotte. Avril is also the co-host of the popular daily sports-talk radio show Cliff Avril And Jason Puckett Show on Sports Radio 950 KJR in Seattle.

Radio and non-profit work aside, Cliff Avril also has a passion for racing, notably participating in this year’s goldRush Rally. As part of “Team Haitian Creation,” Avril and his purpose-built McLaren 720S were part of the festivities. And apparently that is only one of Avril’s impressive automobiles.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Cliff Avril by phone on October 7, 2019 about of topics including his NFL player career, the Cliff Avril Family Foundation, the Jason Puckett And Cliff Avril Show, his car collection, and the last concert he attended. While the full audio from that interview is embedded below, more things on Avril can be found online by visiting www.twitter.com/cliffavril, www.instagram.com/cliffavril and/or www.cliffavrilfamilyfoundation.org.
