HBO ‘Our Stories to Tell’ Immersion Celebrates Black Creatives
This past weekend, over the course of Friday, November 15th through Sunday, November 17th, HBO hosted a multi-day, immersive pop-up experience in support of their new campaign “Our Stories To Tell” that celebrated and united creativity and community. For this experiential event, HBO transformed Casita Hollywood (1323 Highland Avenue Los Angeles, CA 90028) into a multi-functional space that combined marketplace, co-working space, and event venue.
“Our Stories To Tell” was part of a larger multi-faceted initiative created by HBO to engage with and service diverse and multicultural audiences through cultural programming and relatable storytelling. This pop-up brought together creatives, creators, and natives to celebrate Los Angeles and the talent in it. Guests in attendance at “Our Stories To Tell” were privy to meaningful panel conversations with established and emerging talent and creatives, live musical performances, and had access to special events and diverse programming.
Programming highlights included an opening night party with a live performance by Top Dawg Ent/RCA recording artist SiR and special guest, with music provided by DJ Austin Millz and an epic game night event hosted by Gabrielle Dennis and Sarunas Jackson. Panel discussions included a conversation with A Black Lady Sketch Show’s Robin Thede, Lauren Ashley Smith, Ashley Nicole Black, and Akilah Green on advice for creatives. Creative talent Quinta Brunson, Raven “Ravie B” Varona, and Iddris Sandu discussed their professional journies. “Our Stories To Tell” also hosted a marketplace place, Vector 90 sponsored co-working space, a community run, and an event in partnership with #HashtagLunchbag to give back to the Los Angeles community and those in need. The weekend culminated in a private brunch sponsored by Moet & Chandon to honor creative executives.
