Soul/Funk Buzz Project, Summer Dennis and Rhymes Premiere ‘Second Summer’

Washington DC-based, soul/funk project, Summer Dennis & Rhymes, announce the dynamic and sultry track album Second Summer, premiering exclusively today on The Hype Magazine. Officially due out tomorrow, November 8, 2019, Summer Dennis brings together a range or feel-good vibes and strong vocal delivery. The funky record sees singer Dennis give thanks for the simplest things in life with a passionate vocal performance over a smooth groovy backdrop.” (EARMILK) Rhymes have acquired media accolades, including appearances on Great Day Washington, Celebmix, Soulbounce, and Blog Talk Radio, who gushes, “Summer has a warm welcoming vocal style that celebrates her love of singing not just as an artist but as someone who truly loves the music.”

Dennis describes the album:

“The album vibe is all about Soul Fusion. We are taking multiple sounds and influences and fusing them together to create a new sound that people haven’t heard before. We are inspired by Bill’s rhythm guitar licks and my powerful soulful voice that can carry almost any style.  The cover is a play off the story of the knight and the queen. Bill is my protector and I am Queen Summer, the leader of our company Rhymes Enterprises. We are excited about putting out more musical projects that fuse artistic styles from various decades and styles, all that can be referred to as Soul Fusion. We want to thank Scoony Quarrels and Mone on da Beat for their hard work at assisting us with producing the album. The sound would not be possible without their skills in percussion and arrangement. “

Summer Dennis is a classically trained musician and vocalist with an extensive vocal range, extending from first soprano through alto. She created as a platform to bolster her lush and spirited musical creativity and high energy performance to inspire listeners throughout the nation.

Recently transitioning from a full band to a duo, a powerful female lead, Summer Dennis co-writes with Bill Moore  to compose music that displays power, independence but also femininity. Rhymes’ music and performances have cross-over audience appeal and combine elements of rock, R&B, latin, pop and reggae
