Johnny Rocket Sheds Light On Sex Trafficking With Video For “Survive”

Maryland hip hop emcee Johnny Rocket uses his gift for crafting music to curate a single titled “Survive” which follows the narrative of a girl who is abducted by a sex trafficker and the impact it has on her family/community.

Accompanied by a music video, the track has the Johnny reciting lyrics, as he puts it “from the heart,” in effort to inform listeners the severity of the sex trafficking situation currently in the United States of America.

The emotional hip hop anthem is embellished with a smooth and relaxing beat giving such a important song the balance it needs to reach a bigger demographic. To tackle the issue, the emcee had to expand his sound and get out of his comfort zone.

“Since I’m not at my best getting on my social media platforms to speak about what’s going on with our children, so I took it to music,” Johnny told reporters during the studio session. “I hope and pray it reaches a bigger audience than would I can bring, we need it!”

Throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, Johnny has been reaching out the schools to check on the safety of the children. With a noble heart and great talent, the Maryland emcee has been making a mark locally.
