Raphael Saadiq’s “Jimmy Lee Tour” Brought Soul to South Florida

Raphael Saadiq has been a towering icon in the world of R&B for over 30 years. From kicking off his career in the music industry as a teenage bassist in Sheila E’s backing band on tour with Prince to sky rocketing to fame with the chart-topping, Grammy-nominated trio Tony! Toni! Toné!, Raphael Saadiq is no stranger to what it takes to put on a good show while keeping the crowd engaged and entertained. And this truth fell nothing short of this reality when the Jimmy Lee Tour graced the stage of the Parker Playhouse theater in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The tour kicked off with a performance by songstress Jamila Woods. Jamila is a popular artist that is widely known for her collaborative works with Chance The Rapper on the hit song “Sunday Candy” and her collaborative works with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis on the hit song

After, DJ Duggz took over and had the crowd on their feet jammin’ and singing along to every song that he played that night. He gave the crowd 60 minutes of a pure grown and sexy jam session. Once his set was over, Raphael Saadiq walked out on the stage playing his guitar. And for almost 2 hours he sang the best of his music spanning from across 3 decades.

Fans can catch him on tour from now until the end of February.

Raphael Saadiq released his most recent album entitled “Jimmy Lee”. He is known throughout the industry for his renowned creative vision and has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music including but not limited to Solange Knowles, John Legend, Mary J Blige, D’Angelo, Ne-Yo, Snoop Dogg, Little Dragon, Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, Elton John, Mick Jagger, and Lady Gaga
