Alice Rowe Creates A Fierce Anthem In ‘Flex On You’

British singer/songwriter Alice Rowe blends elements of soul, pop, and jazz to formulate a deeply personal track to her and something she considers one of her best creations yet.

Her new single, Flex On You, is something to admire as the twists and turns of open lyricism combined together with new sounds allow for the R&B singer to put her feelings out there.  Lyrics such as ‘Going to hear my name everywhere / Driving you insane but I don’t care’ are an example of how personal this is.

Alice’s mesmerising vocal ability is paired against a gentle soundscape of guitar riffs and reverberant piano, finding the gifted lyricist at the height of her craft and working with a strong sense of purpose.  The inspirations of Loyle Carner and and Etta James are felt here, but there’s more to Alice as she isn’t someone to be messed around.

The mixture of her dynamic personality and sophisticated lyrical composition create a force that Capital Xtra, New Music Friday Denmark and BBC Introducing have wanted to see more.   With her debut EP Foreseen set to drop later this year, the singer is very much looking forward to seeing what the future brings.
