Geovarn marks first release of 2020 with smooth new single ‘Still Mean’

UK singer, writer and producer Geovarn returns with new single ‘Still Mean’, his first release of 2020, out today.

Initially an Instagram freestyle that saw Geovarn rap over London producer Happi’s Dr. Dre-sampling instrumental, ‘Still Mean’ harnesses an early-2000s R&B vibe, fit with playful punchlines and smooth, vibrant production.

The official video – produced by revered videographer Chauffeur, who has previously worked with Potter Payper, M Huncho and M1llionz – sees Geovarn flex his vocal prowess amidst flames, dobermans and French bulldogs – reinforcing the fact that he is here to stay.

Geovarn rose to prominence in 2014 with his incendiary debut release, ‘4AM’, quickly drawing support from scene tastemakers such as Charlie Sloth, Ras Kwame, GRM Daily, Complex and MTV. Creating his own lane for UK R&B and soul, he then released the iconic single ‘Skeng’ in 2017 and mixtapes Lost Files 2 and MEAN in 2018 and 2019 respectively, amassing over 10 million streams across his diverse body of work.

Another infectious release, ‘Still Mean’ sees Geovarn solidify his status as one of the most exciting artists in the UK R&B scene.
