0Exclusive: Songwriter, Producer & Musician Jesse Harms On 40+ Years In The Music Industry
Even as a devoted fan of classic rock, if I said the name “Jesse Harms” to you, you may not know who I was talking about. But the reality is that you have heard the music of Jesse Harms, and you have heard it many times over. Beyond spending decades in the backing band of former Van Halen vocalist Sammy Hagar — whom he co-wrote many songs with — Harms has co-written released music for the likes of Heart, Eddie Money, REO Speedwagon, Bad English, Guitar Shorty and Patty Smyth, to name a few key artists. He has also contributed to recordings and/or live appearances by David Lee Roth, John Hiatt and Ry Cooder, beyond sessions alongside musical greats like Eddie Van Halen, Slash, Ted Nugent, Tom Jones, Bootsy Collins, Billy Idol, Ted Templeman, and Alphonso Johnson.
While doing some research for the podcast that I launched with Steve Roth back in June 2020, The DLR Cast, I stumbled upon contact information for Jesse Harms. I reached out to see if he would be interested in speaking about his musical past, present and future, and featuring he was. Below is an embed of my August 2020 interview with Harms, as also featuring discussion with the aforementioned Steve Roth about such, in addition to music videos of 2 hit songs co-written by Harms over the years.
Jesse Harms can be reached by visiting the social media accounts of the Marin Music Center.
