Psych-Pop Duo 88/89 Release Vibrant Single “Hit Me”

London based psych-pop duo 88/89 have released an electric new single “Hit Me.” The duo merges synth-pop and psychedelic rock to make for an authentic, mood lifting, and nostalgic track. “Hit Me” was recorded and produced by 88/89, mixed by Tim Rowkins (Mura Masa, Rina Sawayama, Maribou State), and mastered by Kevin Tuffy at Alchemy Mastering.

Leaving an energetic pep in your step and an unwavering sense of confidence to face the day ahead, “Hit Me” is the perfect track to jam out to in the shower. The dreamy synths, obscured vocals, and distorted guitar are reminiscent of something you’ve heard from Tame Impala or MGMT. The song centers on the euphoric feelings experienced when you are in love. The smooth energy in 88/89’s vocals and beat on the track induces a tranquil vibe in the listener. “‘Hit Me’ is about that moment in a relationship when you’re like, ‘uh ooooooooo this is the real deal’ and the moments that take your breath away. It’s one of our favourite songs because it represents a time where we realized what kind of music we wanted to make” explains the duo. “Hit Me” is a worthy addition to your indie-pop/psych-pop playlist.
