Da Great Ape Shares New Video For “Scale Talk” Feat. YFN Lucci

Hot on the heels of his latest mixtape STR8 DROP, Atlanta rapper Da Great Ape shares a new visual for the project’s standout track “Scale Talk” featuring YFN Lucci. Directed by The Wizard, the cinematic visual inspired by the movie Blow shows Ape and Lucci as kingpins and cohorts from the crime scene to the soiree. The video follows Ape’s previous video for “Quarter Brick” featuring Rick Ross.

STR8 DROP is Da Great Ape’s 9-song effort that follows his debut project Last Dope Boy Left , which solidified him as one of the torchbearers of classic, gritty southern rap. The new project continues Ape’s sonic trajectory and is influenced by southern legends like Project Pat, Three 6 Mafia and T.I. – the latter of which also appeared on Ape’s track “Ape Mode” and was among the first to discover him.

ABOUT DA GREAT APE:
Hailing from East Point Atlanta, Da Great Ape provides an authentic, autobiographical introduction to himself as an artist on any song he makes. Da Great Ape shines as a gifted wordsmith, lyricist, storyteller and special breed of southern rapper who earned his stripes from OG’s to narrate the “dope boy” experience in all its pain and glory. He made a name for himself in his hometown through prolific output of music and visuals as well as grassroots street team promotion around local anthems like “Out Trap Me” and “Dreams of a Dopeboy.” He released his debut mixtape Last Dope Boy Left in 2019 on Warner Records, which included the standout track “Ape Mode” featuring T.I. Describing his art as “soul music,” Da Great Ape continues to rise, speaking his truth with unwavering confidence over dark trap melodies and 808s.
