Friends of Clay Reflects on “Growing Up” in New Single and Claymation Video Out Now

LA-based indie-rock artist Friends of Clay has dropped his second single, “Growing Up,” an introspective look at how his adolescence has influenced his adulthood. The single is accompanied by a stop-motion clay animation visual, which walks through the various stages of ‘Growing Up.’ Watch and listen here.

“‘Growing Up’ is about how one childhood memory can change your life. It’s also about grasping opportunity when it’s in front of you. Those that keep waiting for things to happen end up seeing their lives pass by faster than they thought,” says frontman Clay Priskorn.

“Growing Up” is a perfect follow up to Friends of Clay’s debut single “What Percent Are Monsters” which was released in August. The single received early support from the LA Daily News who noted: “Priskorn is heavily influenced by the Beatles and that comes through in the song with a melody reminiscent of the more psychedelic side of the Fab Four, think “Strawberry Fields Forever.”” In addition, the track made it’s official radio debut on LA’s KROQ Locals Only show following release.
