The Church’s Steve Kilbey On New Album “Eleven Women,” Life During COVID-19 & Much More

As the founder, frontman and primary songwriter behind The Church, Steve Kllbey first found international fame in the early 1980s with hits like “Unguarded Moment,” “Almost With You,” “Reptile” and “Under The Milky Way”; the group’s 1988 album Starfish went on to sell over 1 million copies in America alone. Kilbey has released many solo albums and collaborations — arguably making him one of the most prolific songwriters in the world — beyond finding work as an actor, painter and author.
Steve Kilbey’s latest solo album is Eleven Women, of which Rolling Stone Australia wrote: “Eleven Women is Steve Kilbey showcasing his worth as a powerful, prolific performer.” The latest single released from the album, which was released on September 4th, is “Sheba Chiba.” Meanwhile, Kilbey and band started work on the next album by The Church last year, which he aims to release in 2021.
