Fenzrir is Rewriting Hip-Hop Standards with His Metal Inspired Viking Rap

Bronx rapper Fenzrir is using songwriting tactics commonly seen in rock and metal to create genre-bending hip-hop music. “Channeling my inner rage into making my tracks is a powerful reminder to always push beyond the scars and bad experiences with confidence and arrogance,” the artist says. Blending the metal sonic of acts like Slipknot and Bring Me The Horizon with rap sounds reminiscent of rapper 6ix9ine, Fenzrir is creating music that he describes as having a “Viking touch that commands the listener’s full attention.”

In the production of his upcoming EP, Fenzrir recently released his track Berzerker as the project’s lead single. “As usual, I have a Viking style, and my next song will be all about exercising one’s inner rage,” shares the Bronx rapper. Serving as a perfect example of the sound he is trying to achieve, Berzerker builds around tribal production and cumulates with Fenzrir’s metal-Esque vocals ripping into the track. The upcoming EP from Fenzrir may be one of the most exciting projects slated for release next year, and it will explore brand new sonics in hip-hop.
