Shah Drops New Single “Dirty Money”

Atlanta-based rapper Shah has been staying busy in 2020 with the release of “Cracks”, “Finale” and now his latest single “Dirty Money,” which dropped today on all streaming platforms. Although currently back in his hometown of Toronto, Shah had been living in Atlanta until unforeseen circumstances had him return to Toronto without even a moment to think. On the aircraft used for his sudden exit back to Canada, Shah had access to an inventive studio put together by long time engineer and Secret Hit’s Eddy Beethoven (Tory Lanez, Soulja Boy, Khalil, Steve Aoki, Prince Royce). In collaboration with producers My Buddy and Bobby King, Shah was able to complete the track during the one-way flight back home. Back in Atlanta, if asked to name the top 3 Toronto rappers, the most common response will be Drake, Torey Lanez, Shah. Yet in Toronto, Shah is an enigma, reminiscent of The Weeknd pre-2011, when only those with close access could appreciate what was unfolding. In Atlanta, however, the secret’s out. Local media describe Shah as one of the streets’ most certified rappers. His breakout single Just Text was popularized by Atlanta’s influential Strip Clubs like Magic City, before becoming a bonafide radio hit. National US media, from Complex to Buzzfeed, describe Shah as Trap’s New Star. Prior to the pandemic, Shah headlined an outdoor Atlanta concert with 70000 in attendance. One reason to forgive Toronto’s oblivion is Shah is not an internet rapper. Shah’s career was launched in Atlanta, where hits are determined by DJs and dope boys, requiring rappers’ presence in strip clubs and the streets, not SoundCloud and Tik Tok.
